Travel Insurance

The reason that people love to travel is what they bring home with them - the stories and memories that come from the experience of travelling to another city, province or country.

Whether you are young or old, healthy or dealing with some health issues, someone who likes the thrill of adventure off the beaten path or the comfort and luxury of a resort or a five star hotel, you need travel insurance.

While travel insurance may be offered in your employee benefits plan  at work, you may think that this is all that you need and will cover any expenses regardless of your destination. It is recommended that you take the time to carefully review the policy that is offered to you at work to see if you have enough travel insurance for your destination. If you discover that you do not have enough coverage then it is important to buy another travel insurance policy before you leave for a destination outside of your province or country.
Travel Insurance
Just as you would never leave for a trip without your luggage and passport, never travel out of the province or the country without buying enough travel insurance to cover the unexpected. You are now totally prepared to enjoy a well deserved and restful vacation where you can focus on the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of your destination without a care in the world.

Travel insurance policies are designed to pay for many unexpected expenses while you are away that may not be covered by your employee benefits plan or OHIP. You will typically have a choice between an emergency medical and a more comprehensive policy. The price for either policy is calculated based on your age and the location and duration of your trip.

An emergency medical policy reimburses the costs of receiving unplanned medical care while you are travelling. The comprehensive policy covers these costs in addition to other unexpected expenses caused by circumstances such as lost luggage and cancelled flights.

Before you are scheduled to travel to another province or country, you must buy travel insurance in the province where you live. You can buy a policy for a specific trip or you can have an annual plan that is more cost effective if you travel frequently.

If you already have travel insurance, you should review your policy if your circumstances change for the better or for the worse.

I would be happy to review your travel insurance policy with you at no obligation.
